Tulsa, Okla.– October 1, 2026 – Starting Friday, October 2, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will launch Gateside by TSA PreCheck at Tulsa International Airport (TUL). Gateside is a new, TSA-managed program that allows eligible non-travelers who are TSA PreCheck members and have a valid Known Traveler Number (KTN) to request access beyond the security checkpoint. The program may be useful for people who want to accompany family or friends to their gate, greet arriving passengers past security or enjoy TUL’s dining and shopping options beyond security. Gateside will go live at 301 additional airports on October 2, bringing the total number of participating airports to 314, including the 13 airports where it is currently available.
TUL Visitor Pass To Remain Available
The launch of Gateside does not replace Tulsa International Airport’s existing TUL Visitor Pass program, which has been available since 2023. The TUL Visitor Pass gives any member of the non-traveling public a way to access the secure side of the airport, and has approximately 1,000 users per month.
The Two Programs Offer Slightly Different Options for Non-travelers:
• Gateside by TSA PreCheck: Available to eligible non-travelers who are TSA PreCheck members with a valid KTN. Requests must be submitted through www.tsa.gov/gateside at least one day and no more than three days before the requested visit. Once approved, visitors will present acceptable identification at the airport and go through TSA PreCheck screening before entering the secure area.
• TUL Visitor Pass: Available to any non-travelers with a TSA-approved ID. Applications are free and can be submitted through https://flytulsa.com/travel/amenities/tul-visitor-pass-program/ up to one week in advance, with most applications approved within minutes.
TUL visitors using either program are subject to the same security regulations as passengers boarding an aircraft and must comply with TSA’s screening procedures, such as not bringing items prohibited by TSA and complying with the 3-1-1 Liquids Rules.
“We’re excited to offer another way for our community to enjoy more of TUL,” said Kim Kuehler, Communications Manager at Tulsa International Airport. “Whether you’re welcoming someone home, seeing a loved one off or spending a little extra time together beyond security, these options give our community more flexibility and make the airport experience even more welcoming.”
