Tulsa International Airport Incident Details

TULSA, OK – December 1, 2021 – On Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 11:51 p.m. there was a shooting at Tulsa International Airport. Airport police officers responded immediately and brought the incident to a conclusion. The suspect and one airport police officer were the only known injuries. Tulsa Police Department also responded within minutes to assist. The airport is safe and operating as normal, and no flights were delayed or cancelled.

Timeline of events:
– On Tuesday, November 30 at 11:51 p.m., Tulsa International Airport police were alerted of a shooting on the airport’s arrivals roadway, just outside of Concourse B baggage claim.

– In the midst of the shooting, the airport believes at this time, the suspect’s gunfire may have struck two shuttle buses via ricochet; one Tulsa International Airport parking shuttle and one hotel shuttle. No one was injured.

– Two airport police officers responded immediately and followed the suspect to the lower level of the parking garage. After disobeying officer commands to disarm, the suspect then shot one of the airport police officers in the chest, but fortunately, the officer was wearing his ballistic vest. The officer that was shot then returned fire, shooting the suspect in the ankle, which allowed airport officers to arrest the suspect.

– Tulsa Police Department was alerted of the shooting within three minutes after Tulsa Airport Police was notified. Tulsa Police Department quickly responded, and is currently handling the investigation, which is ongoing.

– Both the suspect and the police officer were taken to a local hospital. The airport police officer was examined and released within a few hours. The suspect is being guarded by Tulsa Police Department officers until he is released from the hospital and can be booked.
