WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), chairman of the Subcommittee on Transportation and Infrastructure and member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, applauded the Tulsa International Airport for receiving a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grant of $13.6 million to upgrade a major taxiway at Tulsa International Airport:

“The safety and modernization Oklahoma’s airports are an important priority for all Oklahomans and the entire aviation community. I commend Tulsa and the surrounding communities for their efforts in obtaining the grants necessary for this project,” Sen. Inhofe said. “Infrastructure, like the taxiway project for the Tulsa International Airport, is vital for the economic well-being of our Oklahoma communities, and will increase safety and capacity at the airport for years to come.”

“Tulsa International Airport is very pleased with the federal grant to provide needed upgrades to our taxiways,” Mark VanLoh, President of Tulsa International Airport said. “I appreciate Sen. Inhofe’s leadership in advocating for funding for the taxiway project and other infrastructure priorities in the state. The upgrade of the taxiway will improve safety and efficiency at Tulsa International Airport.”
