November 2, 2018 – Mark VanLoh, CEO of Tulsa International Airport and R.L. Jones, Jr. Airport since February 2017, submitted his resignation to the Tulsa Airports Improvement Trust Board effective December 1, 2018 citing his pending acceptance of a position in Jacksonville, Florida.

VanLoh became Tulsa Airports CEO in February 2017 after a national search was undertaken by the Airports’ Board of Trustees.  Since his arrival, he has led numerous initiatives that have resulted in an increase in airport revenue, airline service, and facility improvements.  His accomplishments include:

• Leading the transition of the majority of concession operations at TUL, bringing new retail and restaurant options that represent a mix of local flavors with national brands.
• Formed the Tulsa International Airport Development Trust to administer the Airport’s Tax Improvement Financing districts in support of future property and hotel development.
• Initiating a project currently underway to add canopies to the third level of the parking garage, providing all garage customers with a covered parking product.
• The implementation of a Commercial Vehicle Ground Transportation Policy, ensuring that all commercial operators are properly permitted for access to airport facilities.
• Securing agreements with transportation networking companies (Uber and Lyft) that have resulted in designated pick-up zones for customers and a per trip fee paid for each passenger pick up made at the airport.
• Significant additions in airline service with the recruitment of Frontier Airlines to Tulsa with service to five seasonal destinations and year-round service to Denver, the addition of Via Air to Tulsa with 5-day a week service to Austin, TX, and recently announced by American Airlines daily nonstop service to Los Angeles in 2019.
• Okmulgee’s first community air show, the Okmulgee Airfest, which attracted over 3,500 attendees from across the region for the daylong family event.

Tulsa Airports Improvement Trust Chair, Jeff Stava, praised VanLoh on his accomplishments while serving as CEO of Tulsa’s air transportation system.  Stava said, “Mark has been a tremendous resource for our airports and our City during his time in Tulsa.  His leadership has created a streamlined organization with an improved financial footing that is prepared to serve the Tulsa region for years to come.  We wish him all the best in his new position.”

VanLoh will remain in his current position until the end of November. The Trust has already begun the search process to identify his successor.
