EV Charging Stations

EV Charging Stations

Status

EV Charging Stations have been installed and will officially open on Monday, April 22nd.

Project Overview

Purpose

The project will provide for the bulk electrical infrastructure to support 32 dual, level 2, electric vehicle charging stations in the parking garage, and 30 dual, level 2 charging stations in the economy parking lot.  In addition, the project will provide power to support 5 electric shuttle buses.

The project will initially install 16 dual, level 2, charging stations supporting 32 vehicles in the parking garage and one shuttle bus in the economy parking lot.

The additional 16 chargers for the parking garage, 30 chargers in the economy parking lot and 4 shuttle bus charging stations will be installed at a later date, as the need develops.

AEP/PSO will provide additional power cables and equipment such as electrical transformers and switchgear boxes to support the effort.

Scope of Work

Provide Electrical Design for Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations as follows:

  • Phase I: Install 4 dual, level 2, charging stations to the east of existing stations located on the back row (South side), lower level of the parking garage.
  • Phase II: Install 12 additional dual, level 2,charging stations to the east of phase I.
  • Phase III:  Install 1 level 2 Bus charging station in the shuttle parking lot.
  • Installation of two (2) automatic transfer switches and two (2) main distribution panel cabinets and two (2) power distribution cabinets is required to support the effort.
  • Installation of five (5) concrete pads with conduit chases are required to meet AEP/PSO specifications.  Installation of two (2) pads are required for the MDP & ATS equipment.
  • AEP/PSO will provide two (2) 120/208V 500kVA transformers, two (2) type 9 switchgear cabinets and one (1) type 10 switchgear cabinet.
